FAQ

Measurements

filter-plus How to measure the right door with a frame?

Measure the height, width, and wall thickness of the doorway.
Leave a 15 mm free space on each side edge and the top for mounting foam and wedges.
Example: For a doorway size of 900 x 2100 mm, the correct outer frame size would be approximately 870 x 2085 mm.

We offer a standard frame depth of 92 mm.
However, if your wall thickness is greater, you can order a custom frame.
In this case, please specify the total finished wall thickness in your order (including plaster, tiles, any finishes).

If a wider frame is needed, we also offer frame extensions:

  • The extension is made from a 12 mm thick three-layer solid board, ensuring high durability and stability.

  • For easier installation, the door frame has a pre-made groove to securely and easily insert the extension.

  • The extension matches the material and color tone of the main frame, ensuring a seamless and visually consistent appearance.

Important:
Measurements must always be taken after all wall and floor finishing work are fully completed.
Always double-check your measurements before placing the order.

filter-plus How to measure the door leaf for an existing door frame?

Measure the width and height inside the existing door frame.
Deduct a few millimeters from each dimension to leave a free space between the new door leaf and the existing frame — this ensures smooth closing and proper fitting.

Alternatively, if the existing door leaf is available, you can measure the door directly and use it as a reference.

Please note:
Our standard door leaf thickness is 45 mm.

filter-plus How to measure sliding door leaf?

Measure the full width and height of the wall opening that the sliding door needs to cover.
To ensure better coverage, add 5 to 10 cm extra width beyond the opening size.

Check that there is sufficient wall space beside the opening for the door leaf to slide fully open.

filter-plus How to measure door casings/architraves?

Door casings and architraves are supplied with extra length to allow perfect onsite adjustment.

Onsite measurement and cutting are required to achieve a precise fit, especially for 45° angle corner connections.
Because walls and floors are often not perfectly straight, it is recommended to cut architraves individually during installation.

Types of Doors

filter-plus Types of doors – what to choose?

Choose rebated doors if you prefer a classic look with a visible stepped edge and better sound and air sealing.
Choose non-rebated doors if you aim for a modern, minimalist look, where the door sits flush with the frame and the wall surface.

filter-plus What is the difference between rebated and non-rebated doors?

Rebated doors have a stepped edge that overlaps the frame when closed. They are more forgiving to walls and frame imperfections, easier to install, and provide better sealing against sound and airflow.

Non-rebated doors have a straight, clean edge that fits flush within the frame. They require very precise installation but offer a seamless, high-end aesthetic ideal for modern interiors.

filter-plus Doors Frame with or Without a Threshold – What to Choose and What is the Difference?

Frame with threshold:

  • A fixed bottom crosspiece is included.

  • Provides better sound, air, and dust insulation.

  • Recommended technical rooms or areas requiring stronger separation.

Frame without threshold:

  • Open floor design with no bottom crosspiece.

  • Creates a modern, open look and easier accessibility (e.g., for wheelchair users).

Frame without threshold but with integrated door leaf drop seal:

  • Combines a clean, barrier-free look with hidden sealing functionality.

  • A concealed seal automatically lowers when the door closes, improving insulation without needing a visible threshold.

Door Materials and Installation

filter-plus What material is the door frame made of?

The door frames are made from high-quality laminated softwood, which is stained and lacquered according to the selected door model.

This construction ensures high strength, stability, and a premium visual appearance, perfectly suited for both modern and classic interiors.

filter-plus What is inside the door leaf?

The doors are made from genuine 100% solid wood.
The construction uses laminated solid wood slats for the frame and a three-layer solid wood panel in the core, providing excellent stability against deformation.
On the decorative sides, 10 mm antique solid wood veneers or 7 mm oak solid wood veneers are applied, giving the surface an authentic natural look.

Thanks to this complex construction, these solid wood doors are more resistant to deformation and offer better sound absorption compared to traditional doors.

filter-plus What is the door finishing?

Door leaves, frames, and architraves are finished with a high-quality water-based lacquer with a minimal 5% gloss level.
This finish preserves the natural appearance and texture of the wood while offering durability and easy maintenance.

We use Millesi lacquers — environmentally friendly and developed specifically for premium interior doors.

filter-plus What should I know about installation requirements?
  • Installation must only begin after all wet construction works (plastering, screeding, tiling, painting) are fully completed.

  • The room’s relative humidity must be maintained between 35% and 65%, and the temperature between +10°C and +30°C.

  • Doors must be acclimatized for at least 3 days in the installation area before fitting.

  • The door opening must be square and level before beginning installation.

  • If any visible defects are discovered, installation must not proceedcontact us immediately for further instructions.

Door Hardware

filter-plus What is a mortise lock?

A mortise lock is installed inside a cavity (mortise) cut into the door edge.
It offers a secure, durable locking system and is suitable for both classic and modern door designs.
Mortise locks can be combined with both visible and concealed hinges. Here are lock functions.

  • BAC (F) – latch-only lock with top latch, no locking function (no space for a profile cylinder) – suitable for interior doors.

  •  PZ lock with profile cylinder keyhole – suitable for interior and exterior doors.

  •  WC – lock with thumb turn for toilets/bathrooms WC – lock with thumb turn for toilets/bathrooms.

filter-plus What is a strike plate?

A strike plate is a metal plate fixed to the door frame.
It serves as the catch for the latch or lock bolt when the door closes.
The strike plate helps protect the frame and improves the door’s durability and security.

filter-plus What is a magnetic lock and strike plate?

A magnetic lock uses a magnet to quietly and smoothly hold the door closed without a mechanical latch.
When the door closes, the magnet engages with a special magnetic strike plate mounted in the frame.

  • Silent closing with no mechanical latch sound.

  • Creates a sleek, minimalistic appearance.

  • Compatible with both rebated and non-rebated doors.

We offer magnetic locks from two premium manufacturers:

  • KFV (Germany) — known for precision and reliability,

  • SINA (Italy) — known for design and performance.

filter-plus What kind of hinges should I choose?

The hinge choice depends on the door type and interior design:

  • Visible standard hinges:
    Recommended for rebated doors.
Easier installation, robust performance, and classic visible appearance.

  • Concealed hinges:
    Recommended for non-rebated flush doors.
Create a seamless look, invisible when the door is closed.
    Require precise installation.

Both options are available depending on the selected door model and customer preference.

filter-plus What about seals?

If you order doors with frame, we integrate Schlegel high-performance sealing solutions directly into the frame.

  • The seals feature a polyurethane foam core that ensures high durability and excellent recovery performance.

  • The seal color is selected according to the door model to maintain visual consistency.

filter-plus What about door stoppers?

We offer floor-mounted door stoppers to protect the door, frame, and wall from impact damage.
Installing a door stopper helps prevent the door from being opened too far and protects adjacent walls or furniture.

Usage and Installation

filter-plus Where can I use the doors?

Doors are designed for interior use only.
They are ideal for:

  • Residential homes,

  • Apartments,

  • Hotels,

  • Offices,

  • Other commercial and public interiors.

Doors must be installed in rooms where the temperature is maintained between +10°C and +30°C and the relative humidity between 35% and 65%.

filter-plus Can I install doors myself?

It is possible to install doors yourself if you have sufficient technical skills and experience.

However, to ensure:

  • Proper installation,

  • Full product functionality,

  • Preservation of warranty,

We strongly recommend that installation is carried out by qualified professionals.

filter-plus How to install door casings/architraves?

Door casings are supplied with extra length to allow precise adjustment onsite during installation.

Since it is not possible to predict in advance how the 45° corner joints will be made — whether the middle section will overlap the side architraves or the middle section will be inserted between the side pieces —, we recommend the following:

  • Individually cut and adjust each casing to match the specific wall configuration,

  • Take into account any irregularities in the walls or floors to ensure the best possible fit.

The installation of architraves can be carried out:

  • Using mounting adhesive (for a clean, discreet finish), or

  • With headless pins (for minimally visible fixing points).

This installation method ensures both a technically precise and a visually aesthetic final result.

filter-plus Installation at the end of the construction site – is it possible?

Yes, it is strongly recommended to install doors only after all wet construction works are fully completed, such as:

  • Plastering,

  • Screeding,

  • Painting,

  • Tiling.

Installation in stabilized conditions helps prevent:

  • Door deformation,

  • Frame movement,

  • Warranty issues due to incorrect humidity levels.

Always verify room conditions before proceeding with installation.
